Move Over Kale … Brussel Sprout Chips!

I’m a BIG fan of healthy, organic and quick cooking foods.  I have NO time to slave over meals, nor do I need to, nor do you…  These are Brussel sprout leaves baked in the oven or toaster oven.  Luna loves her kale chips, but I like to rotate foods plus give her a wide variety of healthy foods.  Soooo, this creation came about.  Again, it’s simple, quick and healthy!

This is what I normally do…  Take a bunch of Brussel sprouts wash and rinse off, 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil, dash of onion powder, dash of garlic powder, dash of Himalayan sea salt (if you want spicy then add cayenne pepper or paprika) and mix in a bowl until sprouts are coated.   Preheat oven to 375F degrees, place Brussel sprouts on a cooking tray or sheet of aluminum foil and cook for 30 minutes.  Around 15-20 minutes, mix up sprouts so they roll over.  When ready, I separate the crispy leaves, one by one and the mushy ones I place back in the oven or toaster oven.  It’s quick and not tedious at all!

OR after washing, you can separate the leaves and throw them on a tray or aluminum foil.  You can lightly coat leaves with olive oil or use a sprayer if you have one, then sprinkle the same herb powders as above.  Place in a toaster oven at 250F degrees and bake until crispy brown, about 7-10 minutes – watch closely.
