Watermelon Juice

Watermelon is a tasty, refreshing and nutrient packed food.  Who doesn’t like watermelon?! One cup contains only 46 calories, 20% of your daily intake of Vitamin C, 17% of vitamin A and contains blood pressure lowering potassium. Here’s some more reasons why you should definitely incorporate this delicious food or juice into your eating plan!

– Contains high levels of lycopene, a carotenoid phytonutrient that is important to cardiovascular health, bone health and cancer prevention

– Rich supply of the amino acid citrulline.  Citrulline is converted by our bodies into arginine which helps improve blood flow and cardiovascular health; as well as preventing excess fat accumulation in fat cells

– Watermelon juice has been shown to reduce muscle soreness and improve recovery time following exercise in athletes. Researchers believe this is likely do to the amino acid L-citrulline

– Anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidant health benefits due to its phenolic compounds, including flavonoids, carotenoids and triterpenoids

How to make Watermelon Juice 

2 cups of watermelon chunks

1 cup water  (optional, I used it to cut the sweetness a bit for Luna)

Add into blender and blend it up
